Who is responsible for this site
This website is operated by a company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, that company is the data controller for the limited personal data described here. The short version
This is a reading site. There are no accounts, no sign-up, no comments and no newsletter. The calculators on the site run entirely in your browser, and what you type into them is not sent to us. The only personal data we routinely handle is the technical data a web server unavoidably records when it answers a request, described below.
Technical data our hosting provider records
The site is served through Cloudflare's content delivery network. Serving a page means receiving a request from your device, and that request carries technical information: your IP address, the date and time, the address requested, the response status and size, your browser's user-agent string and, where your browser sends one, the referring page. Cloudflare records this in standard server logs and aggregated traffic statistics used to deliver the site, protect it from attacks and automated abuse, and diagnose errors. We do not use these logs to identify individuals or to build profiles. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, functioning website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare's own handling of this data is described in its privacy policy.
Analytics
At the time of writing, no analytics script runs on this site: the only traffic information we see is the aggregated, cookie-free statistics our hosting provider produces from its own logs. To understand which pages are read we may later add a privacy-preserving analytics service that counts page views without cookies and without identifiers that could single you out (for example Cloudflare Web Analytics). If we ever add an analytics tool that uses cookies or persistent identifiers, we will update this page first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before it runs.
Cookies
We set no cookies of our own, and no cookie banner is shown because there is nothing to consent to. If advertising or other services that use cookies are added in future, this section will be rewritten and a consent mechanism appropriate to your region will be added before those services start.
Advertising and affiliate links
At the time of writing there is no advertising and there are no affiliate links on this site. Should that change, this policy will be updated in advance to describe the advertising partners involved, the data they process, and how you can control it.
The tools on this site
The moon phase calculator, the life path number calculator and the dream dictionary search run as JavaScript in your browser. Dates and words you enter are processed on your device and are not transmitted to us or to anyone else.
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to keep a record of the correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with the matter. We do not add you to any mailing list.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Residents of California have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request its deletion; we do not sell or share personal information within the meaning of that law. To exercise any right, email hello@thirdeyealmanac.com with "privacy" in the subject line. Because we hold so little data, the honest answer to most requests will be that we have nothing to show or delete beyond your own email to us.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date below. Material changes — for example adding analytics with cookies, advertising or a newsletter — will be described here before they take effect.
